Mosaic-Workshop SMALTI

23., 24. + 25. October 2026

Course content: The cutting of tesserae (Latin for cubes) and working with the mosaic material ‘smalti’ and natural stone is practised with a hammer and hardy, the classic ancient mosaic tools. A theoretical insight into the production of smalti, its colour palette and classification is provided. The course is designed for advanced students who want to extend their training in mosaic craftsmanship. A small to medium-sized mosaic (max. A3) can be created.
