Mosaic design retaining wall Münztreppe/Münzplatz Pirmasens 2024
In January 2024, my design for the large retaining wall at Münzplatz/Münztreppe in Pirmasens was selected by a jury. By July 2024, all the mosaic work, preparations and installation work had been completed with the help of a large team of mosaic creators and helpers. The organization was a mega achievement and challenge, as many different positions had to interlock in time.
Everything succeeded. Unbelievable!
Thanks to my great, competent mosaic team: Bernadette Busch-Lützel from Schifferstadt, Else and Palina from Leipzig, Claudia Wilgus from Kiel, Rainer and Christiane Bechthold from Ehringhausen, Amelie Kassel from Mittelbrunn, Niklas Liebenspacher from Altleiningen, Maurizio Postiglione from Villingen-Schwenningen, Stefanie Ahlbrecht from Merzig, Gerti Kukuk from Wustermark, Alexandrea Kraski from Hamm, Andrea Hiller from Großpösna, Martina Graf from Bensheim, Kerstin and Hans-Ulrich Neumann from Edingen-Neckarhausen and Hedda Schermer from Mannheim.

Here you can see the complete retaining wall with the finished mosaic. Unfortunately it was cloudy. The photo clearly shows the large dimensions. The retaining wall has a height of 9 meters and a width of more than 15 meters.

... and this is what the wall looks like now. Half a year of intensive work - together with my great mosaic team - now shows the realization of my design, which was selected by a jury of the art-in-architecture competition in January. Thanks to Thomas Koch for the photo.
